| Demo Policy | We accept demos from artists. We will listen to everything, but we may not have the time to reply to everything. We ask that you be familiar with what we do before submitting your work. Please remember that all labels have their own idea about their artistic output and direction, and even though your music may be incredible, it's possible that our direction may not match yours. That doesn't mean your work isn't good, so don't be discouraged, keep at it. To avoid wasting plastic on CDs, we only accept MP3 demos. -Make a high quality (320kbps) MP3 of your track. Please do not submit more than four to five different tracks for consideration. Please only send us finished tracks. -Name your MP3 in the ID TAG with the name of the artist and name of the track. -Include your name and email address in the "Album Name" ID TAG of the MP3. It is crucial you do this, because otherwise we will not know how to contact you if we think your track is amazing. -Post your MP3/s at a static link. Sendspace style sites are useful, but the link usually expires after one week, and it's possible that we will not be able to grab your music file before that time limit expires. So please post a static link and send the link in a text email, to our email address: konque at konque dot com. -DO NOT send MP3s as attachments to our email address. It will blow up our inbox and we will be forced to use webmail to delete your email without reading it. That's a sad thing for both of us. -Send us a nice regular text email. Send from the email you wish to use as a contact point. In this email, write a few sentences about your musical ideas, how you create it, what it sounds like. A brief paragraph is fine. Be sure to include the name of your project and name of the tracks you submitted along with the MP3 links. You will hear back from us if we want to release your work. If you do not hear back from us, don't take it personally, feel free to submit again a bit later. |
| About | We are a label interested in many aspects of electronically mediated music and sound design. We began as a label focused on the dancefloor, but that focus is expanding outward to include our natural influences; "leftfield" or experimental music, instrumental music with modern classical or avantgarde jazz influences, and the diaspora of reggae and funk music (ska>dancehall>dubstep>etc). |
